Sights during the tour
You will be met by your guide at the Port of Istanbul or your hotel, where you will begin your Private Istanbul Tour. First we will visit the “Sultan Ahmet Center”, the heart of the “Old City” from where the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires were ruled.
Blue Mosque, facing Hagia Sophia, famous with its blue Iznik tiles and unique with 6 minarets, built in the name of Sultan Ahmet.
Hippodrome, center of sportive (chariot races, athletics) events and political activities of the old city. Obelisk of Theodosius, Serpentine Column, German Fountain of Wilhelm II are the monuments decorating Hippodrome.
Hagia Sophia History & Experience Museum, offers an immersive and technological exploration of Hagia Sophia’s 1,700-year history. Located in the Defter-i Hakani Nezareti building near Sultanahmet, this museum presents the historical and cultural transformations of Hagia Sophia—from a cathedral to a mosque, then a museum, and back to a mosque again
Hagia Sophia Mosque, is one of the most iconic landmarks in the world. It has a rich history that spans nearly 1,500 years and has served as a cathedral, mosque, and museum. Today, it is a functioning mosque but remains a major cultural and historical site that attracts millions of visitors each year.
Topkapi Palace The great palace of the Ottoman sultans from the 15th to the 19th centuries housing an exquisite collection of crystal, silver, and Chinese porcelain, robes worn by the sultans and their families, the famous jewels of the Imperial Treasury, miniatures, the Holy Mantle; enshrining relics of the Prophet Mohammed.
Underground Cistern In this historical place one discovers the grandiose nature of the past when touring through Istanbul’s largest and most magnificent underground Cistern. Built by Emperor Justinian in the 6th century to supply water to the near-by palace complex, the cistern has a total of 336 decorated columns.
Grand Covered Bazaar, Most attractive shopping center and biggest “souk” in the world with nearly 4000 shops selling antiques, jeweller, gold, carpets, leatherwear and souvenirs. Once the tour has finished you will be returned to the Port of Istanbul.
